I have been absent
again...here and there and everywhere else...
Let's catch up...
I am giving my classroom a new look this year. I have always had cutesy, country-primitive looking stuff decorating my classsroom. I was inspired earlier this summer while looking in the clearance aisles at Hobby Lobby. And, by clearance, I mean 80-90% off clearance!! I hit the jackpot! I found tons of great French inspired items and other black and white pieces that all kind of coordinate but are not too matchy-matchy. Anyway, I will take some pictures of the HL stuff as it is displayed in my room, but, for now I'll show the little makeover project that I did as well.
Started out wit this metal chair that I use to sit at my podium in my room...
Some spray paint and some cricut magic...
HOWEVER, I didn't go a very good job applying the fleur de lei and by the time I got to school it was not staying on very well. Then, another teacher saw it and said "Oh, are you a Saints fan?" Well, I have nothing against the New Orleans Saints, but I could not get the thought of that out of my head!! So, I changed it to a crown instead of the fleur de lei...will take a picture of it in my classroom...
Headed to the What Cheer Flea Market a few weeks ago. I did not have the nost productive day as I had to take the boys with me. It was hot and they lasted about an 1 hour before they started complaining. Some food, some pop, a few matchbox cars and a few other toys passified them for another 2 hours but I still did not get to see everything!
Here are a few purchases...
Some cute state pans ~ Missouri & Florida!
Great old lampshade...
Old lamp, too!!
Really intertesting piece...old cubby for parts or something?
Labeled: DRILL, F-20, SPRDR

Not sure if I will keep it or not. I have absolutely no green anywhere in my house, although, I know that does not really matter....I have a feeling this little beauty might make a trip north in about 4 weeks!
Gotta love the bendy rulers!!
The best purchase of the day was these KISS dolls!! :) I bought them for my friend, Jody, who is a HUGE KISS fan. I just could not let them go! That is what I love about What Cheer ~ you just never know what you will find!
The best part of the last month...
Kid Rock & Bon Jovi at Soldier Field ~
The goodie bags I made for the other two concert-goers that I went with. Full of fun girly stuff from Claire's!!!
AND.... .38 Special at the Bremer County Fair
Summer is over. :( I start back to work on Thursday, the same day that the boys start school. My youngest is going to kindergarten :( He is soooooo excited about school!
just so bittersweet, I guess.
