What a Great First Day of Fresh-Picked Junk!!
I am a little behind on blogging since my computer was sick :-( So, here are more pictures from my sale. A few are from last night when I was getting ready - so they look dark! I was working in the little shed until about ten. My only lights are all of the Christmas lights hanging in there, so I didn't stay beyond that. SOMEDAY, the shed will have POWER!
As I was getting ready (dressed, make up, hair, etc) for the sale today, I had a customer appear at 1:30. My first thought was "oh no, I am not ready!!" but then my customer introduced herself and I was thrilled!! It was JillRuth from the Junk Revolution community!!!! She and her family were passing through on their way home from the vacation in Chicago. It was so great to meet someone from the JR community!!!! I think that we could have talked for hours!! She took my picture, but we should have taken one together!! Hope to see her again sometime!
Later on, I had several customers right at 3:00, and then it was pretty steady until 5.00. It really slowed down until about 7:30 when my husband's aunt and cousins stopped by. All in all, it was a great first day!
LOVE this old rusty wheel barrow and all the old buckets...

School stuff...love those old books.
Old medicine cabinet with a few old laxative tins!!! :-) The round plastic thing is from an old light fixture that I found in a house hot far from here that someone was tearing down.
Kitchen stuff
Under my vintage 'archway' - more below...
Old tables, quilts, wash tubs...a corn field in the background...!!
I love this picture, but not sure you can really tell that the old doors are hinged together with the porch railing across the top. I have seen this idea on some blogs, in some shops, and at some shows, and I love it. I wish that I was getting married again (to the same man, of course!) and I would used this as archway for us to stand under!!!

Rick Springfield - my kind of vintage!!!!!
Here are just a few pictures from the Rick Springfield concert that I went to last night. I was never a die-hard fan back in the day, but I think he is adorable and just thought that I needed to see him - he is just kind of an icon from the 80's (I guess that really is loving all things vintage :-). He is almost 60! How GOOD does he look!?!?!?

A little bit of Heart and A Lot more Junk!
Last Friday night my husband and I went to see Heart at the Riverside Casino and Resort in Riverside, Iowa. It was an outdoor concert, so we dealt with heat and bugs, but it was worth it! My pictures are not that great, as we just weren't close enough. I will get to see them again in August at the state fair where they will be performing with Journey. Next week, I am going to see Rick Springfield!
Love these Chinese checkers boards and the Skill Ball piece. This picture makes them look a little better - they actually have a little rust on them, which makes them look a little junky!
Last night I went to yet another auction...Here are some of my finds. Wondering if they are Junk Bonanza worthy?!? I am kind of getting away from the theme I was trying to go with - farm house/farm stuff. But, I am just finding too many fun things!! Maybe...I will try to incorporate everyhing in a creative way...hmmmm..

I love this Lard can. 50 POUNDS OF LARD!?!?!?!? Who buys 50 pounds of lard??? No, I know, Lots of people used to do this. But, it just seems gross. I love the bottom - it says "Excellent for deep-frying and pastry." By today's standards, it would have to say "Excellent for heart disease, obesity, stroke, cellulite, etc. etc...." Don't get me wrong - I love fattening foods, the more grease the better. But, for some reason, 50 pounds just seems CRAZY!!!
Pinic basket and little lunch box - too cute!
Cute green scale. great shade of green!
Shot this photo in the back of my trailblazer, sorry for the lack of ambiance! Anyway, I really wanted the sprayer and they threw in the flower frog with it. Anybody have any ideas for the frog?

Isn't this a great color for this cake/pie carrier? I might have to keep this!
AND, finally for my two favorite finds of the night!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this scooter. It will be hard to part with, but can't you just see a shopper scooting around on this at Bonanza?
AND...folding rulers!!!!! I am so excited! I can make some of those cute stars that I have seen all over the place. There are a couple that only fold out once...will have to think of something to do with those. And, there are a few old metal (and rusty) protractors! How fun!
